I Kings 3:5-14, 11:1-9
“You can have victory over your flesh.”
- Solomon began his kingdom as a child who God gave wisdom and blessed more than any other person or king who has ever lived.
- Solomon’s great testimony. (I Kings 10:6-7)
- Solomon’s end was vastly different from his beginning.
- How did a man so wise end up so badly? He had a flesh problem.
- The Christian engages in spiritual battles every day. Our biggest spiritual battle is against our own flesh.
- Where Solomon lost his battle, we can win by walking with God.
- The victorious Christian life eludes many Believers because they are slaves to their own flesh.
- WINNING AGAINST THE FLESH
- Recognize the weakness of the flesh. (Galations 5:16-17, James 4:5)
- Restrict your walk. (Galations 5:16, Proverbs 3:6, Psalms 37:23)
- Realize the end. (Galations 5:19-23)
- WALKING IN THE SPIRIT GIVES TRUE FREEDOM. (Romans 8:1-4)
- DO NOT BELIEVE SATAN’S LIE THAT YOU CANNOT CHANGE OR THAT YOU WILL NOT BE HAPPY WALKING IN THE SPIRIT.
