Be What You Are Called to Be
Deuteronomy 7:6-9; 14:1-2
“Be the peculiar light to the world that God calls you to be.”
- ISRAEL IS GOD’S CHOSEN PEOPLE.
- God called them His children. (Deuteronomy 14:1)
- God called them a holy people. (Deuteronomy 7:6)
- God called them a peculiar people. (Deuteronomy 14:2)
- THE CHURCH IS GOD’S PECULIAR PEOPLE. (Titus 2:13-14)
- God’s plan - to redeem a peculiar people (v. 14)
- God’s proclamation – you are peculiar (I Peter 2:9-10, I Corinthians 6:19-20)
- WHAT MAKES THE CHURCH PECULIAR? (I Peter 2:9-10)
- The Believer is a Child of God. (Romans 8:14-16)
- The Believer is the Church of God.
- THE BELIEVER’S PECULIAR PRACTICE: (I Peter 2:9-21)
- The Believer must not be like the world.
- We are peculiar in our praise. (v. 9)
- We are peculiar in our conversation. (v. 11-18)
- We are peculiar in our suffering. (v. 19-21)
- If you are not different, your light isn’t shining.
- Stand for God patiently and faithfully.
