Exodus 12:1-11

- Depicts deliverance from bondage and redemption from God’s wrath
- God spared Goshen from the first nine plagues. The tenth plague required the protection of the blood of the lamb, not just proximity to Goshen.
- Christ is the Believer’s Passover lamb (I Corinthians 5:7)
- The blood of Christ must be applied to our heart
- THE PASSOVER MARKED A NEW BEGINNING FOR ISRAEL (v. 2)
- It changed their calendar
- The shedding of Christ’s blood marked the beginning of the New Testament
- APPLICATION OF THE BLOOD AT SALVATION MARKS A NEW BEGINNING FOR THE BELIEVER (I Corinthians 5:17)
- Salvation is the birth of a new man
- Salvation is the birth of a new life
- The sin of the old life cannot be made “Christian”
- Salvation is the birth of a new heart
- Christianity is more than outward conformity; it is a changed heart. The changed heart loves God and desires to please God.
- Salvation is the birth of a new commandment
- God’s disciples are marked by love for one another
