To Know Christ More
Philippians 3:3-8
- PAUL’S CONFIDENCE (vv. 3-6)
- Paul’s confidence prior to salvation was in his own flesh and works
- He had a perfect pedigree
- When confronted by God, he placed his confidence in Christ and his name was changed
- His prior confidence and accomplishments he counted loss and worthless
- THE CHRISTIAN LIFE CAN BE SUMMED UP IN ONE WORD: RELATIONSHIP (vv. 7-10)
- Paul forsook all other things to have a relationship with Christ
- Christ is more than our Savior
- KNOWING CHRIST (Philippians 3:10)
- Paul pursued a relationship with Christ
- The most important relationship in your life is your walk with Christ (II Corinthians 5:14-15)
- To Know – to recognize and fully understand
- Paul had a specific goal he reached for in his relationship with Christ = Christ-likeness (v. 14)
- Our pursuit should be Jesus Christ
- Our relationship with Christ should influence us to be more like Christ
- Do you know Christ more than as your Savior?
